If you long for free food in addition to plenty of fun, Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, is the place to be as the 18th National Sports Festival kicks off today.
This is because Honeywell Nigeria Plc, makers of flour products, has concluded arrangements to serve free noodles meals to both participants and spectators at the fiesta taking place in Nigeria’s economic capital. The arrangement was test-run from Wednesday with the serving of free noodles meals at the festival’s main venue by a team from Honeywell led by Chinwe Uju, a senior Honeywell official.
“We are in the Games to throw our support for the success of the fiesta. We have good customer patronage in Lagos and this is why we are embarking on free cooked noodles meals for all that come to watch the Games,” Uju said.
“At the beginning, we will only be at the Teslim Balogun Stadium but as the Games progresses we will spread to other venues of the festival. “We are going to serve the participants, spectators and indeed, anybody that cares,” she added.
News Express reports that the festival, which usually produces news sporting stars, ends December 9. Over 8,000 athletes are billed to compete in 25 events at the festival which has Teslim Balogun Stadium (shown in photo) as the main centre of the action.
